Louisville Bicycle Tours has designed a bike tour through the Portland neighborhood. The cost is FREE. Guests are invited to bring their own bikes, however, and Louisville Bicycle Tours will have 15 bikes to loan out for each tour. There will be three rides over the course of the day starting at: 10am, 1pm, and 3 pm. Each tour will start AND end at the Family Health Center. The ride is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes (7 miles total). Guests “borrowing” a bike are encouraged to make a reservation. You don’t need a reservation if you’re riding your own bike!
From 12 to 4 p.m. at the new Healthy House (1641 Portland Avenue) – Louisville Grows will be collecting favorite gardening and tree stories from residents and visitors for use in an interactive storytelling project.
A self-guided “Hunt for History” will also be available. Guests will be directed to various points of historic interest and can participate in a hunt ending at the Portland Museum (2308 Portland Avenue). The Portland Museum will be open and hosting river heritage activities.
The Portland Branch Library (3305 Northwestern Parkway) will hold a book sale during Fair hours.
