Welcome to Wild
Bison Boulevard

Join Us along a story trail through Portland Warf Park that narrates the role that wild bison played in creating the American foodscape. It speaks to the deep history of our land, our rich biodiversity and how we can protect our own food security. When we better understand the deep history of our past, we can better understand how to manage humanity’s food needs in an uncertain future.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

I trace my ancestry back through Basque heritage to Paleolithic France and Spain, where my long distant ancestors painted their caves with stories of our deep relationship to the animals who walked the Earth alongside us.

To honor my cultural identity, I’ve narrated the stories of whales for Greenpeace, illustrated the saga of fertile fields for the organic food movement, and whispered sweet tales of our intimate relationship with wildlife from the backs of children’s cereal boxes.
